There are 3 decks used to play Terminal and those cards are: discovery, hostile, and system cards. Each deck has a specific design on the back. The design on the back are the stages of a stars life. That is, should that star reach the mass of a blackhole. In order (of how a star can age), the designs are: Hostile Card - Red Giant, System Card - White Dwarf, Discovery Card - Blackhole. Every design in Terminal has a function and purpose, relating to relativity and energy. 

The face side of every card in all three decks are different. Each one has its own artwork and value, depending on which deck, they may even have upgrades and special attributes to them, which the player can use in game.
